A little bit of history: At the beginning of November this year the Elk Grove FFA decided to participate in a letter drive to write letters to soldiers abroad who don’t have a family to write them. As the planning of this event continued, we decided that this event could grow to be much bigger than just one school. We decided to spread the word of this event and try to get as many participants as possible. Over 30 schools and organizations have been invited thus far to help us reach our goal of 10,000 letters written!
The letters will be collected and mailed to troops abroad. The letters collected before December 5th will be sent to the troops for the holidays. All the letters received after December 5th will be mailed in the new year.
Writing Hints:
· Keep the letters between half a page and a full page.
· Introduce yourself
· Keep the letter in good taste.
· Try to keep all politics out of the letter.
· Give them support!
